SOUTH VENICE — A tip from a confidential informant led to the arrest of a homeless couple allegedly manufacturing methamphetamine on the grounds of the Frances T. Bourne Jacaranda Public Library Monday.

The informant told a narcotics detective that “Ray,” a white male about 30 years old with red hair, was making meth near a mattress leaning against the north wall of the South Venice library, according to a Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office report.
