NORTH PORT — Dave McCarron, co-director of Hive, contends the new co-working studio and event space in North Port will serve young professionals as a location where freelancers, startups and the local community can “bee productive.”

McCarron, 34, hails from Bedford, N.H., and has lived in Rotonda West for the last six years. He founded Hive with Eddie Lobanovskiy, 31, David Kovalev, 28, and Anton Korzhuk, 29. McCarron works from his home for a business and financial affairs company in Bedford called Capital Care Associates. He met Lobanovskiy and Korzhuk when he was looking for a local group to develop that company’s website. Discussions with them about developing a shared office space inspired the incarnation of Hive.
