Year-round schools gear up

Although the majority of children living in the Charlotte County school district will begin classes Aug. 18, students at two elementary schools will be hitting the books about a month earlier.

Classes for students at East Elementary and Sallie Jones Elementary will begin Tuesday, and area school officials are reminding drivers to be wary of school zones and buses.
