PUNTA GORDA — They say the third time’s the charm. At least that’s what city leaders are hoping for when they go before the Southwest Florida Water Management District board next week to make the case once again for Punta Gorda’s reverse-osmosis water-treatment plant.
Mayor Rachel Keesling, City Councilwoman Nancy Prafke and city utilities Director Tom Jackson will travel to Tampa on Monday to request the city’s proposed water plant be moved onto the district’s list of priority projects for the 2015 budget cycle.
