Last year, on Dec. 10, Keep Charlotte Beautiful (KCB) hosted an Electronics Recycling Event. In four hours, Charlotte County residents brought in just under 13,000 pounds of electronics. Statistics show that 80 percent of us have aging electronics sitting around our garages and closets. So back by popular demand, KCB will be taking e-waste for Charlotte County residents from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Murdock Walmart parking lot, 19100 Murdock Circle, Port Charlotte. There is a limit of two per household.

Why recycle those old electronics?
