OWOW, which is what we call Our Writers Own Workshops, invites you to attend the Jan. 8, 2018 meeting at 1 p.m. at the Elsie Quirk Library, 100 Dearborn St., Englewood.

The program will be “Killing Clichés,” followed by a writing activity to help avoid tired old phrases and plots. Creating fresh new ways of expressing the old clichés isn’t as easy as one might think. The activity will be useful and, no doubt, produce a few laughs. Attendees will hear more about the OWOW change of venue coming in late January.
