Congratulations to Vanessa Oliver. The 32-year-old Punta Gorda resident recently was among five Gov. Rick Scott appointed or reappointed to the Board of Funeral, Cemetery and Consumer Services, according to a press release from the governor’s office.

Oliver is the general counsel at Ambitrans Medical Transport. She succeeds Donald Stiegman, and was appointed for a term beginning Thursday and ending Sept. 30, 2017. Oliver’s appointment, along with those of her fellow appointees from around the state, is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
