Englewood is blessed with excellent drinking water, thanks to the Englewood Water District’s outstanding system. We are in the process of getting everyone hooked up to a central sewer system, which if managed as efficiently as the water system should function well.
The sewer expansion has been slow. The first section was hooked up years ago, with other sections coming on line as money allowed. People have the opportunity to pay a flat fee or spread it out over a 15-year assessment. The assessment may be easier for some folks to handle, but at the 5 percent interest rate and V-9A assessment currently being charged, it adds 69 percent to the “cash up-front” cost. Once you are hooked up, you pay the same per unit usage as everyone else.
