Water covers about 70 percent of the world’s surface. It governs much of our climate and weather. We use it for transportation, warfare, recreation and food, and draw inspiration from it and its inhabitants. Whether we live near the water or far away from it, we feel its influence every day.
In March, Florida Gulf Coast University’s Renaissance Academy in downtown Punta Gorda looks at water from three different perspectives: that of the artist and fisherman; the history of sea warfare; and ocean-based transportation, commerce and diplomacy.
