PUNTA GORDA — 7-Eleven announced it’s shuttering its Punta Gorda store on Bal Harbor Boulevard, where a store clerk was shot and killed in 2015.

The store, located at 1121 Bal Harbor Blvd., will close a few days before Christmas, shutting permanently on Thursday, Dec. 21, a store clerk said. The 12 full- and part-time employees have been offered employment at a nearby 7-Eleven along U.S. 41, which is less than 2 miles away.
