Eagle’s prognosis stable after power line injury

A Bald Eagle named “Icarus” that struggled in a Punta Gorda canal after it was apparently shocked by a power line last week is recovering at Peace River Wildlife Center with a stable but guarded prognosis, according to care-takers.

A bald eagle that suffered burns to its feathers and feet is being cared for at Peace River Wildlife Center in Punta Gorda with a stable prognosis after it was shocked from a power line near a canal in the city.

A Bald Eagle named “Icarus” that struggled in a Punta Gorda canal after it was apparently shocked by a power line last week had a stable but guarded prognosis at Peace River Wildlife Center.

The eagle, which is thought to be male, was brought into the center after residents heard a bang. Some even temporarily lost power from the event, according to information from the center.
