Pablo Cauz, 50, was arrested in Miami earlier this month and extradited to Charlotte County on Christmas Day, Wednesday. He faces 27 animal cruelty charges for allegedly housing pigs, goats and dogs — along with other animals — on his unkempt property south of Punta Gorda, as seen here.

Officials say this property off Oil Well Road, south of Punta Gorda, was covered in garbage and construction materials. It is also where they say Pablo Cauz, 50, kept about 80 animals. Cauz faces 27 animal cruelty charges after authorities searched the property in April and found injured and sick dogs, pigs and goats, most of which were in such bad condition they died or had to be put down. Cauz was arrested earlier this month in Miami, and was extradited to Charlotte County on Christmas Day.
