PORT CHARLOTTE — The Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Operations Unit conducted an alcohol compliance check at Port Charlotte area businesses Wednesday evening and found all the businesses checked to be in compliance. Periodically, members of the Juvenile Operations Unit, working with juvenile investigative aides, visit local business that sell alcoholic beverages and/or tobacco products. During the checks, the underage investigative aide will attempt to purchase products they are actually too young to buy. During Wednesday evening’s checks, the clerks at all 17 businesses asked the investigative aide for ID and, based on the aide being too young, denied the purchase of the product.
