State revokes teacher’s certification in bribe case

A former Charlotte High School math teacher who admitted to accepting bribes from students had his teaching certificate permanently revoked.

Jeff Spires, an Algebra II teacher at the school, resigned from his position in November 2011 after a school district investigation found the allegations of bribery were true, said Mike Riley, spokesman for Charlotte County Public Schools.
