PUNTA GORDA — An Englewood woman arrested last year in connection to the bathtub drowning of her 11-month-old son will avoid prison time.
Polygraph tests showed that Sharon Swat, 25, formerly of Englewood, was telling the truth when she said her son’s death was an accident, according to court records. As part of a plea deal reached Tuesday at the Charlotte County Justice Center, Swat will serve 36 months’ probation and must complete 50 hours of community service by speaking publicly about preventing child drowning deaths.
