Sheriff allows stubble for employee fund

Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell has agreed to allow agency employees to — for the first time — grow facial hair, to help raise money for a new Employee Assistance Fund. Some taking advantage of the perk include: Criminal Investigations supervisor John Heck, detective Hernan Morales, detective William Prummell III, and detective Kris McRae.

Things have been getting a little hairy at the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office lately, but officials say there is a good reason for it.

For the first time, Sheriff’s Office employees are allowed to grow facial hair — to raise money for a new employee assistance fund.
