PUNTA GORDA — Sherry Kai, 52, of Punta Gorda, was one of about 40 women who turned out to run in the Mother’s Day Bras to Breakfast 5K through town.

Kai, who recently moved to the area from Hendersonville, N.C., said the untimed race on Sunday was not just a nice way to get some exercise on Mother’s Day, but it was also a good way to meet new people.
