A survey conducted in Charlotte County schools determined that youth do not feel valued in the community, and a group of concerned individuals is trying to change that.
Diane Ramseyer, executive director of Drug Free Charlotte County, is helping organize a planning meeting for a youth summit, in which youngsters from around the county will be invited to discuss issues that are important to them. The youth summit has not yet been scheduled, but Ramseyer hopes to hold it by mid- to late fall, she said.
