When Dave Donohew retired from the U.S. Army in 1997, he bounced from job to job until he visited his brother in Florida and eventually relocated here. It was then he found his calling — helping other veterans obtain their benefits.
On Thursday at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County, Donohew, who is the veteran services officer for Charlotte County, spoke to about 20 people to assist them in understanding the many benefits and services that are offered to the estimated 26,000 veterans who reside in Charlotte County.
