Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Training Sgt. Billy Gorman has bicycled in two Brotherhood Rides — including from Naples to New York City in 2011 for the somber 10th anniversary of 9/11. But Gorman said his third “Ride” — which will be just around part of Southwest Florida — likely will be more difficult than the 22-day, 1,734-mile trek to the Big Apple.

Fallen CCSO Sgt. Mike Wilson is one of four law enforcement officers from around the state that will be honored during the 2014 Ride, which begins Friday in Naples, and ends Aug. 4 in Port Charlotte.
