County Commission candidates speak out at forum

PORT CHARLOTTE — Immigration, the penny sales-tax referendum, Murdock Village and code enforcement were part of a wide-ranging discussion Wednesday evening during a candidates forum at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County.

“Meet the Candidates,” to which the Charlotte County Curmudgeon Club played host, offered election hopefuls an opportunity to state their qualifications, but most of the three-hour session was devoted to answering questions from an audience of about 50 potential voters.
