Robert W. “Bob” “The Guitar Man” Hanson, 73, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013.
He was born March 29, 1940, in Minneapolis, Minn., and moved to this area in 2011 from Inver Grove Heights, Minn.
Mr. Hanson was a retired truck driver. He was also a Musician who loved to play the guitar and sing in the local area. He also enjoyed playing golf and fishing, and was a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Port Charlotte. Mr. Hanson served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Elaine Hanson; sons, Larry Bounds, Bobby Hanson and David Hanson, all of Minnesota; daughters, Charrise Ingram of Colorado, Gina Taack, Julie Hanson and Jenel Hanson, all of Minnesota; and many grandchildren. Mr. Hanson was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen Hanson; and his sister, Carol Conrad.
There will be a celebration of Bob’s Life at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 24515 Rampart Blvd., Port Charlotte.
Arrangements were made in Port Charlotte.
