Frank Strollo

Frank Strollo, 71, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and formerly of Batavia, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly Monday, Oct. 28, 2013.

He was born May 14, 1942, in Batavia, to Ralph and Virginia Strollo.

Frank retired from the New York State Department of Corrections, and was a surviving hostage of the 1971 Attica Prison Uprising. He was a member of the Batavia Golf Club and St. Andrews South Golf Club. Frank was an avid golfer and a proud member of the Rainmaker Golf Group. He was a family man, who enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, and loved cooking for family and friends.

Frank will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 34 years, Grace; children, Frank J., Christine (Scott) Harris, Michelle (Michael) Perkins, Philip Boss and Luanne Jacobs; brother, Anthony (Kathleen) Strollo; sisters, Florence (Don) Skinner, Mary Ann Strollo and Dolores (Michael) Fee; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at St. Andrews South Golf Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Punta Gorda Fire & Rescue, or the Punta Gorda Police Department.
