Debra L. Godwin, 57, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at her home in Port Charlotte.
She was born to William and Joan Griffis, Jan. 3, 1956, in Niagara Fall, N.Y.
Debra graduated from Danville High School in Danville, Ill. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Florida, where she raised her family in Charlotte County. Debra was a wonderful daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Alicia Oates of Punta Gorda, Fla.; her son, Keith Tucker of Port Charlotte; her parents, William and Joan Griffis of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Donna Anderson of Idaho Springs, Colo., and Linda Wandsworth of Cape Coral, Fla.; a brother, Rick Griffis of Amity, Ore.; and five grandchildren, Tyler, Chasity, Jase, Kaedyn and James “Scotty”.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Port Charlotte, Florida. Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to sign the memorial book and extend condolences to the family.
