Catherine Ann Robertson-Richardson

Catherine Ann “Cathy” Robertson-Richardson, 68, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2013, at her home in Florida.

She was born Sept. 7, 1945, to Ed and Mary Robertson, at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, and graduated from Norton High School, Ohio.

For many years she was an active leader in her hometown, Barberton, and Norton, Ohio. Cathy was a life member of the El Jobean Community League at her home in Florida. She was an avid quilter and gardener, and made earrings to give as gifts for cancer centers and patients.

Cathy is survived by her son, Tim McCracken, lives in Barberton, Ohio, and works at the family owned newspaper “The Barberton Herald”; her daughter, Cheryl Vespoint, is the Publisher of “The Barberton Herald.” She is also survived by her husband, Dave Richardson; two brothers, Jim (Wendy) Robertson, and Mark (Karen) Robertson. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, JJ Vespoint Jr, Abby Richardson and Bella Richardson; nieces; and nephews.

A memorial gathering is planned for Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at the hoe on Wood Dock Road, with another, in spring, in Ohio.
