Leslie Correll Sr., 86, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday Jan. 29, 2014.
He was born March 19, 1927, in Valparaiso, Ind., to Edward and Vera Correll.
Leslie served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. He was the owner of Les’s Radio and TV Service for 21 years. Leslie worked for the Charlotte County, Fla., School Board as a school bus driver and Inspector Mechanic of the buses. He enjoyed flying his airplane. Leslie flew Civil Air Patrol Sundown on weekends.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Evelyn; sons, Larry (Alice), Leslie Jr. (Linda) and Jerry (Kim); daughter-in-law, Brenda; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Leslie was preceded in death by his son, Terry; two grandsons, Tommy and Billy; two brothers; two sisters; and his parents.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at noon Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E. Marion Ave., Punta Gorda.
