Inez Rotherham Rickard, 81, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Tidewell Hospice after a lengthy illness.
She was born April 28, 1932, in Jersey City, N.J., to John D. and Catherine (nee Lambert) Rotherham.
Inez was an alumna of St. Dominic Academy of Jersey City class of 1951. After high school she worked in advertising in NYC prior to her marriage. She had lived in Emporium, Pa., and Laurel, Md., before moving to Port Charlotte in 1992. Inez was a member of the Elkettes of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2710 in Rotonda West, Fla.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of nearly 57 years, Wm Arthur Rickard; son, John Peter Rickard of Baltimore, Md.; daughter, Mary Anne Born of Pasadena, Md.; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Madilaine, Zachary, Abby and Molli; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and family. She was predeceased by her parents and two siblings, Victoria Kelly and Jack Rotherham.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the Englewood Community Funeral Home, 3070 So. McCall Road, Englewood, FL 34224. Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 5265 Placida Road, Grove City, FL 34224. Private inurnment will be at a later date.
