Nancy Lee (nee Fitzgerald) (Burton) Muldoon, 77, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and formerly of Nashua, N.H., died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte.
She was born July 1, 1936, in Nashua, the daughter of Frederick and Gloria Doran (nee Coates) Fitzgerald.
Nancy was educated in the Nashua school system. She was a self-employed NH Real Estate Broker for 35 years, earning GRI and CRS designations. For many years she worked as a Broker associate with Berman RE Inc. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to own many businesses. Nancy and her first husband owned and managed E&N Property Management, with 90 rental units located in Nashua.
She was the past president of the Women’s Council of Realtors, and Chair of several committees of the Chamber of Commerce. Nancy was a past president of the Landlords Association. She owned the Nanley Agency and the Rental Agency of Greater Nashua, before retiring to Florida in 2003 with her husband William Muldoon. She and William were active members at St. Christopher Church in Nashua.
Nancy’s hobbies included being a ham radio operator. She also loved writing poems, articles and short stories. An article written by her was published in the Greater Nashua Business Digest; and a poem by her was printed in the “Summer of Storms,” shortly after Hurricane Charley, by the Peace River Center for Writers; and she received third prize awarded by the Elks for a poem about America. She also published a newsletter for a retirement community.
Nancy is survived by her husband, William H. Muldoon of Port Charlotte; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lee Ann (nee Burton) (Ronald “Chub”) Levesque of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Bonnie Rae (nee Burton) (David) Plummer of North Port, Fla., and formerly of Nashua; stepdaughter, Patricia Ann (nee Muldoon) (Nasser) Azadi of Waltham, Mass.; grandchildren, Joshua Sundstrom, Sean Azadi, Katelyn Williams, Adam Burley, Todd Levesque, Jocelyn Plummer and Nathaniel Plummer; great-grandchildren, Jackson Robert and Sophia Marie, Jaclyn, Lindsey and Kennedy; sister and brother-in-law, Martha (nee Fitzgerald) (Randal) Sackovich; two nieces, Elizabeth and Jane Sackovich; and two cousins, Diana (nee Bardsley) Scott of Hudson, N.H., and Norma (nee Bardsley) Terrill of Nashua. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Burton; her parents; and a sister and brother-in-law, Marjory (Norman) Hendrickson.
Visiting hours will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March, 21, 2014, at Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at St. Christopher Church, 62 Manchester St, Nashua. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend, and may meet at the church. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
