Christine A. “Chris” Klossner, 59, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014, at home.

She was born Oct. 30, 1954, in Marshfield, Wis., the daughter of Eugene “Gene” and Marilyn “Polly” Engebrecht.

Chris began her 25-year career in education at Sallie Jones Elementary School in 1989, retiring Dec. 31, 2013, due to her health.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Bill Klossner; children, Jacob (Jenna), Michael (Lacie) and Emily; grandchildren, Caden, Kiersten, Dylan, Alaina and Easton; and her parents.

An informal fellowship gathering for friends to share time with her family will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Congregational United Church of Christ, 1201 Aqui Esta Drive, Punta Gorda. A service celebrating her life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014, at the Charlotte Performing Arts Center, 701 Carmalita St. (next to Charlotte High School), Punta Gorda, with the Rev. Dr. John Syster officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial donations in Chris’ name be made to the Sallie Jones Elementary School Library, Congregational United Church, or to the Kiwanis Foundation of Charlotte County, Fla.
