Yvette C. Gellatly, who would be 90 next month, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away peacefully Monday, May 12, 2014, in her daughter’s home in Port Charlotte, under Hospice care.
She was born June 14, 1924, in Manchester, N.H.
Yvette moved to Florida in 2001 from Connecticut. She worked as an Executive Secretary for many years, and as a seamstress. She graduated from Bullard Havens Technical School as an LPN, working at Bridgeport Hospital. Yvette was a very kind and loving person who loved her family. She was a caregiver to her late husband John for 25 years. Mrs. Gellatly resided at River Commons living facility for several years, and made many good friends and enjoyed living there.
She is survived by her four children, Linda (Fred) Dragone, Bruce (Cathy) Gellatly of Cooper City, Fla., Michael (his partner, Tilly Strauss) Gellatly of Miami, Fla., and Janet Gellatly of San Francisco, Calif.; sister, Bernice (Bob) Guman of Fairfield, Conn.; five grandchildren, Annette Whiting, Marianne Chechoski, Michael Gellatly, and Kylie and Luke Gellatly; and four great-grandchildren.
