Marie Lise “May” Gaulin, 82, of Annapolis, Md., and Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Friday, July 11, 2014, in Saylorsburg, Pa.

She was born in Ste. Honore, Quebec, Canada.

May graduated from nursing school at Laval University in Montreal. It was there that she met her beloved, J. Claude Gaulin, and with him began her vocation, her family. Her 50-year journey with Claude took her to New York, Oklahoma, and finally to Easton, Pa., and Punta Gorda, where lightness was always in her heart. It is in Easton where she laid her husband and her son, Robert, to rest, and it is there that she too transitioned. Home. She “took care of the world,” as one of her oldest friends said. May spent her time loving and caring for her family and giving to many others in need. Listing all of the organizations she gave of herself to are too numerous to mention for she gave everywhere and anywhere and anytime. Most important in May’s life was her faith, and love of God. Her devout Catholicism began at an early age with the Sisters in St. Honore and continued strongly until her death, where she was found holding her rosary. And then, there was mahjong! May loved the game, the company of “the girls,” and of course, when she won a quarter. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

She is survived by her sister Edna Meagher; her brothers, Lewis and Martin Ryan, all of Quebec; her sons, Mark of Severna Park, Md., and Mike of Crownsville, Md.; her daughter, Gigi of Pilot, Va.; her grandchildren, Matt, Andrew, Meghan, and Joseph; and her many friends and other relatives.

Calling hours were held Monday, July 14, 2014, evening at the Finegan Funeral Home, in Palmer Twp., Pa. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. today, Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, in Palmer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Home of Easton, 2000 S. 25 St., Easton, PA 18042 or www.thechildrenshome.org.
