Robert L. Johnston

Robert L. Johnston died peacefully Sunday, June 1, 2014, at John Knox Village in Pompano Beach, Fla.

He was born in 1922, in Youngstown, Ohio.

Robert was a Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, and was a World War II veteran. He retired from administration for the Army Reserve in 1979, and relocated to Port Charlotte, Fla. Robert was an avid bowler along with his wife Rose L. Johnston, who preceded him in death on Nov. 20, 2013. His wife Rose was born in Struthers, Ohio, in 1930.

They married in 1950, and leave behind three children, Robert F. (Joan) Johnston of Tampa, Fla., Loretta Johnston of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and David (Cathy) Johnston in North Port, Fla.

A remembrance Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte.
