Daniel J. “Dan” Dugan, 72, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Monday, July 14, 2014.
He was born Nov. 4, 1941, in Lorain, Ohio, the son of Joseph and Alice (nee Ward) Dugan.
Dan served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. As a young man, he sang with a group named “Harmony.” He came to this area from Philadelphia, Pa., 20 years ago. Dan worked locally for A-1 Roofing, Wick’s Lumber, and Gulf Contours. Dan enjoyed golfing and fishing; he will be remembered for singing a “song of the day” each morning for his wife Jet.
Dan will be greatly missed by his wife of 12 years, Jeanette “Jet”; sons, Charles (Linda) Dugan and Michael Dugan; stepdaughters, Constance (George) Nardi and Carolyn (Mark) Mellana; stepson, Richard (Cynthia) Finethy; grandchildren, Alex Dugan and Emily Dugan; step-grandchildren, Katherine and George Nardi, Ashley Finethy, Richard Finethy III, and Jonathan and Kendall Mellana; sister, Mary Alice (Thomas) Rouslin; and brother, Thomas (Jean) Dugan.
