Louis Calderon, 93, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014.
He was born Oct. 27, 1920 in New York, N.Y., the son of Morris P. and Mary (nee Alboher) Calderon.
Louis served in the U.S. Army. He was a clothing designer and a pattern maker, owning his own business for 40 years. He moved to Punta Gorda from New Jersey in 2004, and worked in the guard house at Seminole Lakes for 10 years. Louis was a hard worker, who stayed active and exercised his whole life. He was charming and a loyal friend; he was a good dancer and singer, and enjoyed watching classic movies.
Louis will be greatly missed by his wife of 42 years, Carmen; daughter, Lisa Ann Calderon; sons, Bobby and Mark Calderon; stepdaughters, Marilyn and Evelyn; grandchildren, Ashton Clay Calderon and Bella Calderon; and brother, Victor Calderon.
The family received friends Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. The committal service and burial will be at 2:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Fla.
