Joan M. Winslett, 57, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Monday, July 7, 2014, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 20, 1956, in Long Branch, N.J., to Mauriece S. O’Dwyer and Mary E. Keegan O’Dwyer.
Joan came to Port Charlotte from Talladega, Ala., in 1993. She was employed at The Village Place Assisted Living Facility in Port Charlotte, before her death.
She is survived by her three sons, David Winslett and Jeffrey Whaley of Port Charlotte, and Stephen Winslett of Alabama; her mother, Mary E. O’Dwyer; three brothers, Paul O’Dwyer, Michael O’Dwyer and Kevin O’Dwyer, all of New Jersey; her sister, Mary O’Dwyer, also of New Jersey; and two grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her father, Mauriece S. O’Dwyer; her brother; and two sisters.
Memorial services were Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd., Port Charlotte. Interment will be private at a later date. To share condolences with the family, please visit www.kays-ponger.com.
