George Henry Doeren

George Henry Doeren, 94, a longtime resident of St. Paul, Minn., and Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Monday, July 21, 2014.

He was born Oct. 8, 1919.

George was a graduate of Central High School, a six-year World War II U.S. Navy veteran, and a career electrician. He was a passionate golfer and bridge player. George loved a good cup of coffee. He was a Meals on Wheels volunteer into his 90th year. Above all, George was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who blessed his family with his solid values, his quick wit, and memories that will be treasured forever.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bonnie; daughters, Deb (Ed) and Lynn (Bruce); son, Randy (Kim); and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating his life and Christian faith will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at Faith Lutheran Church in Punta Gorda, Fla.

Memorials are preferred to the church or Tidewell Hospice.
