Report: Student brings gun to North Port ballgame

NORTH PORT — A 19-year-old North Port High School student was arrested Thursday night at the Morgan Family Community Center after he brought a loaded .25-caliber pistol into the facility during a community basketball game featuring police officers, according to a North Port Police report.
Raheem Deondre Dawson, of the 3700 block of Coquina Avenue, North Port, was charged with carrying a concealed firearm and resisting arrest, after a tip led police to be on the lookout for him.
