CHARLOTTE COUNTY — A North Fort Myers man has been accused of shooting at another driver on Interstate 75 during a road rage incident Sunday night, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

Joey John-Medeiros Pinheiro, 20, was driving a Chrysler LeBaron southbound through Charlotte County — returning to North Fort Myers after a day at the beach in Venice — when he allegedly cut off a 47-year-old man in a Chevrolet Avalanche and gave him an obscene hand gesture. The report shows Pinheiro cut the man off “several times” through Charlotte County, but Pinheiro claims he was the one cut off. One of Pinheiro’s friends — who was driving back in a separate car — told Pinheiro someone in the Avalanche was throwing loose change and ice out the window, court records show.
