PUNTA GORDA – Charlotte held off a dangerous Palmetto team for better than 60 minutes, but Andy Santana and the Tigers finally got the one goal they needed to clinch the District 4A-11 regular season title.

With the game scoreless in the 62nd minute, Luciano Calvillo lofted a through ball to Palmetto (10-3-3) forward Andy Santana, who turned and dribbled the ball past the defender, getting a shot off before Charlotte (3-7-2) goalie Gavin Pennell could get to the ball to give the Tigers the only tally of the night.
