NORTH PORT — Chalk it up as a learning experience for the North Port softball team, as Lakewood Ranch came to the Bobcats home field and left with a 14-1 victory in a non-district contest on Monday night.

The Mustangs, who are ranked second in Class 8A in the latest polls, dominated the Bobcats for the second time this season, scoring six runs in the top of the first inning and pulling away from there.
