SARASOTA — To stay alive in the winner’s bracket of the Sarasota Classic, the Charlotte Tarpons baseball team needed nothing short of an extra-innings shutout from their pitchers on the mound.

Tarpons pitcher Kyle Machado did just that on Tuesday night, as the senior pitched deep into the game and combined with reliever Bryce Hayse to hold Bartow to a four-hit shutout as the Tarpons rallied for a 2-0 win in 9 innings at Sarasota High School.
