Leacock finds a home, two state championships in Port Charlotte

With a 435-pound bench press and a 365-pound clean and jerk, Devin Leacock had little trouble capturing the 2017 2A State boys weightlifting title for the heavyweight division.

But even though the Port Charlotte lifter became a state champion for the first time last year by lifting a combined 800 pounds and 40 more pounds than the next closest competitor, it didn’t quite live up to expectations for him.
