Pirates, Bakogiannis beat back Green Wave attack

PORT CHARLOTTE — Port Charlotte High School overcame a sluggish start Thursday night to win its first game of the season, 2-0 against visiting Fort Myers on Thursday.

The Pirate defenders had their hands full during the first half as the Green Wave (1-1) let loose nine shots on goal. Each was rebuffed by senior keeper Mike Bakogiannis.
