PORT CHARLOTTE — Venice High School took advantage of some timely hitting and several Port Charlotte mistakes to cruise past the Pirates 16-0, in a District 6A-11 game Tuesday night.

Venice sent 11 batters to the plate in the second inning to take a 5-0 lead, then had 16 batters hit in the fourth inning to push across 11 runs and end the contest after that frame.
