NORTH PORT — Brennan Simms punctuated a humid, soggy night with a winding 20-yard touchdown run, and North Port High School won what might have been the first game of Larry Detwiler’s coaching tenure at the school with a 25-16 victory over Lemon Bay on Thursday.
It was Simms’ second rushing touchdown of the night. He also fired a 10-yard touchdown pass to Stantley Thomas.
