PORT CHARLOTTE — If the Tampa Bay Rays have learned one thing from five years of picking near the bottom of the MLB draft, it’s this: Be prepared for anything.
“There’s been situations where things blow up right ahead of you, and there’s situations where guys are coming down to you that you didn’t think were going to be there,” scouting director R.J. Harrison said in a conference call last week. “So you try to prepare yourself for everything.”
