Of the many parks in Charlotte County, only two offer services for skateboarders and BMX bicyclists. For some of Charlotte County’s younger residents, that’s not enough.

“I think that with the geographical location that we’re in, young people are chronically underserved in this community,” said Eric Waterloo, 25. “I think that this is largely an adult, senior citizen community. You’ve got the Charlotte High School and the middle school and the elementary school, that are all right there. And whether you like or not, those kids are going to end up in the parks.”
