Group eyes tax projects

MURDOCK — Beginning with construction of a new justice center and jail, and continuing with improvements to the county regional parks and roadways, the 1 percent Infrastructure Sales Tax, commonly known as the penny sales tax, already has delivered multiple projects deemed essential to Charlotte County.

In November, voters will decide whether to extend for another six years the local option sales tax, which expires Dec. 31.
