PORT CHARLOTTE — Detectives are asking for assistance in identifying two men who are suspects in the theft of more than $4,000 worth of gaming merchandise from a local Walmart. On April 4, just before 2 a.m., two men went to the Walmart Super Center, located at 19100 Murdock Circle in Port Charlotte, and loaded multiple XBox and PlayStation3 game controllers into a plastic storage bin. They left the store without paying for the controllers. Similar thefts of game controllers and other gaming equipment have been reported at other local Walmarts by similar looking suspects.

The men involved were both described as being black males in their late 20s or early 30s, and about 6-foot tall. One man had long dreadlocks that were pulled back, wearing a blue, flat-billed ball cap. The other man was wearing a stocking cap and had a beard. Anyone with information on the identity of either of these men is asked to please call the Sheriff’s Office at 941-639-2101 (ask for Criminal Investigations), or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
