The Arcadia City Council got its first look at the 2014-15 budget during a workshop Tuesday, and expressed hope they would not have to raise the millage higher than the current rate of 8.669. One mill equals $1 of tax on every $1,000 of taxable value.
The Council also discussed a rollback millage rate of 8.8195, which is expected to be formally approved at a July 29 special meeting. The rollback rate is purely a precautionary measure to give the city wiggle room in case final budget numbers fluctuate.
